As Jean and I were driving north on US-99 to Yuba City in early October I was fascinated to watch the rice harvest taking place with combines off-loading the grain to trucks while they were working. In other fields tractors were already disking harvested fields, raising large plumes of dust. In this painting, I tried to include it all one scene. The rice field is done in Quinacridone Gold with highlights of Quin Burnt Orange. Of course, the equipment was John Deere. Watercolor. 11.5" x 8.5" |
