On Friday, Jean and I went walking along the Miners' Ravine Trail in Roseville, enjoying the bubbling creek and fields of wildflowers. I was especially struck by a couple of solitary California Poppies (Eschscholzia californica) in a robust field of Blue Dicks (Dipterostemon capitatus) or Wild Hyacinth. I couldn't resist the opportunity to celebrate spring's coming with my interpretation of the color and variety. 230326. Watercolor on hot press paper, 10" x 14". |
