In June I spotted this rose on one of Jean's rosebushes just opening up. I worked faster on this rose, giving it a whole wash of Quin Coral, then doing graded washes from each of the deep crevices. It worked quite well with little touch-up needed. I also experimented with using a sharp point to signify veins in the leaves. That technique requires catching it a just the right degree of moistness. Part of my 31 Paintings in July Challenge. 210727. Watercolor, 10" x 7". |
