| The annual Mountain Mandarin Festival in Auburn sent me to my files to find photos I had taken at a Newcastle, California mandarin tree orchard in December 2013. In the last few years I've enjoyed the challenge and power of painting flowers and fruit in situ, in their own place, among their own foliage. I love the energy created between the greens and oranges in this painting. I painted this on Thanksgiving Day at our traditional Thanksgiving with Jean's family, this year in Nevada City. 211127.
