I went to Lake Tahoe looking for wildflowers, mid-August 2023, late for Spring wildflowers, but I reasoned that they might be late because of the record snowfall last winter. Nevertheless, I found over a dozen wildflowers, especially present everywhere was Fireweed (Chamerion angustifolium). Many small flowers, kind of leggy -- a colorful annual, though I'm not sure I captured the exact color here. 231014. Watercolor, 7" x 10".
