April is the month for Fiddleneck (Amsinckia intermedia) on our property. Like a bracken fern, it gradually uncoils its tiny yellow trumpet flowers like a coiled shepherd's crook, a helicoid cyme. I've painted it several times, this time on a white background in pen and ink with a black outline. 230412. Watercolor and ink, 10" x 14".
