Jean and I took an anniversary trip to Pt. Reyes National Seashore. This view of the white cliffs of Drake's Bay reminded me of the reference in Sir Francis Drake's account: "This country our generall named Albion, and that for two causes; the one in respect of the white bancks and cliffes, which lie toward the sea: the other, that it might have some affinity, even in name also, with our owne country, which was sometime so called." This painting was exhibited in the juried "Go with the Flow" WASH Open Show at Sacramento Fine Arts Center, September 6 to October 1, 2016. Watercolor, 14.25" x 7.75". |
