Loomis has its annual Eggplant Festival every September. Why eggplants? They aren't really grown here. But the town fathers and mothers decided that they were they only vegetable that wasn't taken, hence, the Eggplant Festival. The eggplants in real life aren't this purple, but I like the color, in this case Winsor-Newton Dioxazine Purple. I photoshopped a third eggplant into the composition, but if you look at the way it is hung from the vine you'll know it is fake. :-) 211023. Watercolor on cold press, 10.5" x 10.5". |
