Here I am again painting flowers. I was trying to capture the complexity of yellow daffodils, which I had photoshopped into the arrangement I liked. But working with yellows is tricky. I tried Aurolin for the lightest areas, Gamboge for the mediums, and Quin Burnt Orange for the darks. I kind of like the energy. I found it necessary to outline the blossoms and inner coronas with broader Sharpie lines to make the structure clear above the clutter. This was on Yupo that brings a brilliance and variety to the painting that I hope will look like hand-made stained glass. 211023. Watercolor and ink on Yupo, 10.5" x 10.5". |
